I would like you to meet Sherina better know to her friends as Nana. Sherina is an amputee from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Here is a brief bio on her and she will be sharing her thoughts, ideas and poetry in the coming days.

I lost my left lower limb from knee below, since April 2003 due to a bone infection which was discovered in 2001. The bone infection was cause by multiple surgeries done on my left foot in 97' and 98'. Being a diabetic at the age of 14 has surely made healing process very slow but my stump finally healed after a year. I do have multiple health problems besides being diabetic i am also hypertensive since at the age of 18 and started medication for bout diabetic and pressure since then but bout 10 years ago i started insulin. In 1998 i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, in 2001 started having some slight impairedment with my kidneys. My latest stay in hospital was in early January where i was in for 2 months cos this time its my right foot giving me problems. I have a very huge blood cloth at the heel and so far i had 3 surgeries done and once again i am left with an ulcer and it does scare me cos it was thru the ulcers i had on my left leg that got me with the bone infection and to make matters worst my slight impairedment of the kidneys is now diagnose as kidney failure. Ever since my amputation i have been wheelchair bound.
